When you're training for an Apprenticeship with the Grimsby Institute we make sure there are is lots of support for you throughout your training. If you need to contact someone at the Institute in an Emergency please follow the following advice.

During working hours please contact;
  • Line Manager in the first instance
  • Your WBL Assessor
  • Duty Manager – 07825 065697
  • Duty Safeguarding Officer – 07920 860241
  • Main Reception – 01472 311222
If you emergency is outside of normal working hours;
  • Contact you Line Manager in the first instance
  • For Health & Safety concerns contact the HSE
  • Concerns regarding your personal safety contact the Police on 999
  • If you are concerned about your Health or Wellbeing contact an out-of-hours doctor, the Hospital or the NHS on 111
  • If you will be absent from work because of illness please follow your employer policy
  • If you will be absent, because of illness, from a learning activity please contact your Assessor as per our Apprentice Attendance Policy.


The Grimsby Institute Group recognises that it has statutory and moral duty towards safeguarding the welfare of its learners - they should feel safe and will be supported if any concerns are raised. Learners can talk to one of the team about such things as bullying, accommodation problems, abuse (in any of its forms), self harm, or whatever may be a concern. They are there to help and can be approached easily.
